Check out Bloody Elbow’s coverage of UFC 180: Hunt vs. Werdum in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday, November 15th. The night’s PPV main card is headlined by an interim heavyweight title fight between Mark Hunt and Fabricio Werdum.
With TUF: Latin America all wrapped up, we now have a full lineup for this Saturday’s UFC 180 PPV event in Mexico City, Mexico. Of course, this was supposed to be Cain Velasquez defending his HW title against Fabricio Werdum, but Cain’s injury forced the UFC to create an interim title bout between Werdum and Mark Hunt. The winner of this fight will face Velasquez some time in 2015.
The co-main event features TUF 17 winner and rising welterweight Kelvin Gastelum, looking to score the biggest win of his career by taking out Jake Ellenberger, who is on a two-fight losing streak and in must-win mode. In the featherweight division, Dennis Bermudez tries to extend his winning run to 8 against former title challenger Ricardo Lamas.
As for the rest of the card? Well … it’s filled with TUF guys plus a women’s MMA bout between Jessica Eye and Leslie Smith. This show really got hit hard with Velasquez, Diego Sanchez, Joe Lauzon, Norman Parke, and Erik Perez all bowing out due to injury.
