Tough weekend for the Wildcats in California, as they remain winless in Pac-12 play after losing to Stanford and UCLA in a pair of road matches. On Friday night, Arizona fought back against a tough Stanford side and equalized in the 77th-minute when Emily Lai found the back of the net. The match went into OT and the Cardinals got the better of the Wildcats when they scored the match winning goal in the 99th-minute.

On Sunday, Arizona suffered another 1-2 loss, this time to UCLA. The Wildcats conceded an early goal in the 3rd minute and once again found the equalizer in the second half when Jazmin Ponce notched her 10th goal on the season. UCLA scored the eventual match winning goal in the 71st-minute, which gave Arizona their second loss on the season.

Arizona State University Women: Record: 7-4-0

A historic weekend for the Arizona State women’s soccer program, as they defeated #2 Stanford in Palo Alto on Sunday. Before the historic win, the Devils dropped their first Pac-12 match on Friday night, as California defeated ASU 1-2. Cal jumped out to an early lead in the 12th-minute and even though the Devils were down a goal they remained positive and created numerous chances and finally caught a break in the 68th-minute when Kaitlyn Pavlovich scored her first goal on the season. As the match approached the final minutes, the Devils conceded the match winning goal in the 86th-minute and were not able to find the back of the net in the dying minutes.

On Sunday, ASU defeated #2 Stanford 1-0 with a goal from Sara Totsi, in what is arguably the programs biggest win. There were some glaring stats that emerged from the historic win, which provided a little more perspective at how big the win was. ASU ended Stanford’s 73-match unbeaten home streak. The loss ended Stanford’s 44-match winning streak in conference play and Kevin Boyd now has all all-time lead in career wins at ASU.

Northern Arizona University Women: Record: 6-3-3

A mixed weekend for the Lumberjacks, who suffered their first loss in conference play. On Friday, NAU won their second conference match when they defeated Idaho State at home 2-1. Idaho State scored the opening goal in the 27th-minute and in the 43rd-minute NAU equalized when Hayley Wingender scored her 4th on the season. NAU found the eventual game winner late in the second half when Cierra Gamble, who assisted on the opening goal, pounced on a loose ball and fired into the back of the net.

On Sunday, the Lumberjacks suffered their first conference loss to Weber State 1-2. Weber State scored the opening goal 31st-minute and it took NAU 30 more minutes before Emily Wadell scored the equalizer. Weber State answered back 6 minutes later and held on for the win.

Grand Canyon University Women: Record: 2-9-1

It was another up-and-down weekend for GCU as they split a pair of road matches. On Friday, GCU suffered their worst loss on the season as Kansas City scored 4 goals in the second half en route to a 6-2 win. Both teams went into the half with the score deadlocked at two goals apiece. Joanna Lagunas, Jessica Fitzgerald scored the goals for GCU, but a quick goal by Kansas City just moments into the second half shifted the momentum back to Kansas City, who then scored three more goals.

On Sunday, the Lopes won their first Western Athletic Conference match in a 2-1 OT win over New Mexico State. Cassie Beckwith scored the opening goal in the match in the 23rd-minute and Samantha Bush scored her 3rd goal in the season in the 105th-minute of double overtime.

Embry-Riddle Men: Record: 5-3-1

The Eagles split a pair of matches in California over the weekend. On Friday, Issac Sanchez scored the opening goal and a combined team effort gave the Eagles a second goal in the 39th-minute, which propelled them to a 2-1 win over Soka University. Sunday’s match against Marymount College was a forgettable one as the Eagle failed to find the back in only their first time this season dropping the match 0-3.

Embry-Riddle Women: Record: 6-4

The lady Eagles suffered the same fate as the men’s side over the weekend. The ladies defeated Soka University 2-1 with goals from Amanda Bennett and Kalyn Goodenough. Embry-Riddle showed better than the men on Sunday, but was not able to defeat Marymount dropping the match 1-2. Carissa Frazier scored the opening goal in the 21st-minute. Marymount answered back minutes later and scored the eventual match winner in moments into the second half.

Arizona Christian University Men: Record: 8-2

The Firestorm conceded the opening goal in the match and ACU equalized in the 42nd-minute when Talon Seltzer found the back of the net. Matt Horrigan then scored the game winner just a minute later. ACU goalkeeper Jorge Arauz was a beast between the pipes and recorded 12 saves.
