Irish featherweight star Conor McGregor reeled off his tenth straight victory at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night 26 card during the launch of FOX Sports 1, but it was one of the least spectacular performances of his career. It was the first time that McGregor (14-2) scored a win by decision and he was less than pleased with his performance.

After the fight, McGregor said that he felt a pop in his knee that forced him to rethink his strategy after his knee was unsteady in the stand up game. In the end, McGregor still got the win and continues to work his way up the rankings.

According to Ariel Helwani of UFC Tonight, McGregor suffered a minor sprain of his LCL. He is set to undergo an MRI in Los Angeles later this week.

Once he is healthy and ready to get back inside of the octagon, Helwani added that McGregor would like to fight at the UFC’s year-end show in Las Vegas at UFC 168, which is headlined by the middleweight rematch between champion Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva.

UFC 168 is expected to be the biggest event of the year, so it would be a great chance for McGregor to get back to his finishing ways and watch the hype train roll on.

If McGregor’s trainer gets his way, the Irishman would be matched up against former TUF winner Diego Brandao.
