The annual 'Running with the Black Friday Shoppers' open thread ...

**Written by Doug Powers

Hopefully you all had a good Thanksgiving! Today is of course Black Friday, the shopping day that makes the Running with the Bulls in Pamplona look like a preschool Easter egg roll. Fortunately I haven’t read about any serious injuries or fatalities as a result of the madness, but there certainly has been the expected insanity.

So far a couple of the wildest clips I’ve seen from this year took place at Victoria’s Secret. Via Gateway Pundit, here’s video of a stampede at a Victoria’s Secret featuring a bunch of Black Friday crazies willing to put their lives on the line for “free” goodie bags and discounts on skimpy lingerie for their significant others. I was lucky I wasn’t killed:

That was in Oklahoma. There was similar mayhem at a Kansas Victoria’s Secret:

And even though it’s Black Friday and things tend to get a little nuts, always remember to keep your priorities straight, like this guy:

Police say a Massachusetts man left his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in a car while he went shopping for Black Friday bargains, then went home with his new 51-inch flat screen television and left the toddler behind.

Police, alerted by store security, found the boy asleep in the vehicle in a Kmart parking lot at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

They forced their way into the car and took the boy to the hospital as a precaution.

Meanwhile, they tracked the man to his Springfield home.

He told police he lost the boy while shopping, panicked and called someone else for a ride. The boy’s mother was working.

Twitchy has more reports from “Black and Blue Friday” here.

Stay safe out there. President Obama is avoiding the crowds, and I plan to do the same.
