The Manila Police District is now implementing a manhunt operation in the city after two PTV-4 news crew members were attacked by an unidentified group of men last Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the area of Sta. Mesa, Manila.
At around 1:30 A.M., the PTV-4 news reporter Robert Tan together with Dante Morada, a cameraman and the one driving the vehicle of the network stopped at Valenzuela corner V. Mapa Streets in Sta. Mesa, Manila when they saw a group of men crossing the street. Tan and Morada were in the field that early morning of October 11 to collect some news stories for the network’s early morning newscast when they passed at area, upon crossing the street, the two media men got surprised when one of the crossers hit the hood of their vehicle. Morada, who got out of the vehicle to check for any signs of damage found himself being beaten continuously by the group of unidentified men. Reporter Bernard Tan took off from the vehicle to halt the attack to Morada, unfortunately the latter was also pounded by the group.
The incident gave Tan a left hand wound while Morada was left with a head injury. Aside from the physical atrocities got by the two, the vehicle owned by the government broadcast network also sustained some damages including broken rear windows when the two managed to get back on the vehicle to escape their beaters.
